Spanish Winemaker’s Dinner with Javier Alfonso

Idilico is the only winery in Washington focusing exclusively on Spanish varietals grown in the unique Washington State vineyards. Spanish varietal wines are the most pleasurable wines around. Who doesn’t love a deep and structured Tempranillo, a juicy and luscious Garnacha or a steely acid driven Albariño?

Javier Alfonso, Idilico’s winemaker hails from the famed Spanish wine making region, Ribero del Duero. His wines are a true expression of those enjoyed in his home town.  Washington vineyards are ideally suited to grow the finicky Spanish cultivars. Contrary to popular belief, wine regions in Spain are not balmy and endlessly sunny. In fact most top growing regions in Spain best resemble Washington State. Dry desert conditions, scorching day time temperatures with huge temperature swings at night all wrapped up in a short growing season and frosty winters.

We will showcase five wines paired with Chef Tim’s Spanish-inspired menu. There is one seating at 6 p.m. Dinner is $85. The optional wine pairing is $40. Chef will gladly accommodate any dietary considerations with advance notice.

Why stop with just a fantastic dinner when you can enjoy a cozy guest room and a gourmet breakfast as well? When you dine at Coho Restaurant for one of our special event dinners, stay at the Tucker House Inn that night for only $199. Learn more…
