Family Art Days - Trashion Fashion, Wanna Be?

Bring your young artist to the San Juan Islands Museum of Art for Trashion Fashion: Wanna Be?, a free Family Art Days class on Saturday, August 8 from noon to 2:00 PM. Led by instructors Francie Hansen and Sue Evans, this wearable-art session invites kids ages 5 and up to bring a few clothing "discards" and transform them into a showstopping recycled costume using ribbons, fabric scraps, and other reusable materials — perfect for the catwalk at the County Fair or just for imaginative play at home. Family Art Days is a beloved community program offering hands-on art classes for children to enjoy alongside a parent or supportive adult, with all materials provided by SJIMA. Admission is free and space is limited, so register in advance at sjima.org/familyartdays
