Quilt Exhibition - "The Threads That Bind"
The Threads that Bind, a one-of-a-kind Exhibition not to be missed! The San Juan Historical Museum is proud to announce the opening of our Quilt Exhibition, “The Threads that Bind.” From the signed and dated Crazy Quilts of the late 1800s to the striking art quilts of today, we celebrate the evolution of women’s craft that celebrates the evolution of quits for home and hearth, utility and artistic expression.
Opening reception on December 21 from 1- 4 p.m. Free Admission. Warm and welcoming refreshments will be available. Live quilting demonstration. Susan Williams, the curator of the exhibition says, “It is our hope that this exhibition opens a window into the extraordinary world of quilting. A place where love of friends and family transcends into cloth through layers and stitches that bind us together throughout time." The Exhibition features over 30 quilts from the Historical Museum’s collection and contemporary quilts from the Rainshadow Quilters Guild. The Exhibit continues
