Hungry Love Book Launch

Join the Orcas Island Library and Darvill’s Bookstore on Thursday, July 9, from 5:30–6:30pm to celebrate the release of Hungry Love, the warm and witty debut romantic comedy by local author and library volunteer Ayn Gailey, writing under the pen name Tomiko Diaz. The novel was edited by OIHS alumna Gray Gailey.

Set on Orcas Island, Hungry Love follows a New York food editor whose carefully curated life unravels, leading her to discover that second chances sometimes arrive in unexpected places. Perfect for fans of Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez, the novel is filled with sharp banter, slow-burn romance, memorable food, and a few familiar island landmarks and characters. Darvill’s owner Sara Farish will join Ayn for a lively conversation about the journey from idea to publication, the real-life inspirations behind the story, and a few behind-the-scenes secrets that didn’t make it onto the page.
