Do you have a stack of clothing that needs mending or fabric that you want to figure out how to use? Have you inherited your grandma's sewing supplies but have no idea how to use them? Are you intimidated by sewing and feel like its for sewing wizards only? Well, it isn't! Sewing is fun and useful and it doesn't have to be scary.
Come learn basic sewing skills in a supportive and fun environment. There are lots of little skills you can pick up that are really useful, like how to sew a button, how to sew a patch, how to close a seam, etc. If you have a project you have been wanting help with, bring it in and we'll work on it together! Or, come in and make a small project while learning how to sew.
This class is held in the print studio on the AAC campus. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.
Date: Friday, 7/11 from 3-6 pm
Registration: Please register early if you are able, as it helps us to assure that classes meet their minimums in order to run! If you register more than three weeks before this class begins, a 20% early bird discount will automatically be applied to your ticket at checkout.
A Note on Ticket Pricing: We are experimenting with offering sliding-scale tickets in order to keep our classes accessible to as many community members as possible. There are three price tiers. Sustaining tickets helps us continue to invest in programming. Full-price tickets cover the costs associated with running classes. Accessibility tickets are priced below what it costs for us to run a class. If the cost of a full-price ticket is a hardship, we encourage you to purchase a sliding-scale ticket. If you can pay the full price or sustaining price, please choose that option so we can keep providing arts programming to the community.
