Alchemy Art Center: Basic Hand Broom Making

Learn how to create your own unique, handmade brooms! Participants will make turkey tail and hawk tail brooms in this hands-on class.

Join experienced broom maker, Becka Viets of Hexagon Textile & Broom in learning hand broom making basics. Students will learn with skills to make turkey tail brooms and hawk tail brooms. This class will also cover broom anatomy, lore, history, a demo, and hands-on broom-making time.

Supplies to make two+ brooms are included. Additional supplies will be available for purchase. Recommended ages 15+. Physical abilities needed: grasping, holding, turning/rotating, maintaining tension between a stick under feet and a broom in hands.

Becka is joining us from Bellingham to teach this class!

This class is held at the Art Barn at the new Alchemy Art Farm at 45 Hawthorne Lane. Directions and parking information will be included in your confirmation email.
