Join former National Park Service historian and author Mike Vouri for an engaging talk about the San Juan Islands during the Civil War. Mike will set the historical stage for our semi-annual cemetery walk, Our Ancestors' Stories: Civil War Veterans, Sunday, September 6.

LIHS Board Vice President Joe Schwankl will lead a tour focused on the Civil War veterans buried on Lopez. Learn about what roles they played in the War (including potential fraudsters and deserters!) and what brought them to the Island.
