We started San Juan Island Sea Salt because we wanted to share our love for this beautiful island we grew up on. We had tried making sea salt for gifts as kids by boiling seawater on our parent's stoves. It took a ton of electricity and time and made a huge mess. This experience stuck in our minds and 10 years later we decided to make sea salt again, but this time with only the power of the sun. Now we have 6 long greenhouses on our farm where we solar evaporate pure seawater during the summer months. Our sea salt is mineral rich with a perfect consistency for finishing your food. Our product can be found in our new retail store, a variety of select local gourmet shops, plus the San Juan Island Farmers' Market and the San Juan Island Food Co-op.
