Take a step back in time at the San Juan Historical Museum, located on the former James King farm which was homesteaded in the 1880s. The museum complex consists of the original farmhouse, carriage house, root cellar and milk house in addition to the first San Juan County jail, a pioneer log cabin, and a barn and resource center.   We also maintain an extensive collection of historic artifacts, documents, and photographs which showcase the history of San Juan Island.

The 4th of July Pig War Picnic, Island Rec's "Music on the Lawn Summer Concert Series” and the Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration are all annual events held at the museum. The museum will be opening for summer self-guided tours beginning May 17, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturday, through September. Admission is $8 per adult person, $5 student/youth (6-17) under 6 and over 100 free and families (limit 4) $20. Guided tours for 4 or more people may be arranged; this tour will be 1.5 hours, led by a staff member or volunteer well versed in island history and must be reserved in advance.

Directions: Follow Spring Street just past Friday Harbor Suites and take an immediate right on Price Street.  The museum is one-half block on your left past the church.  Admission fee is $8 per person.
