The Animal Protection Society – Friday Harbor (APS-FH), was founded in 1982. It is a private, nonprofit animal welfare organization. We are proud to serve the people and animals of San Juan Island with a variety of programs including adoptions, Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic, Pet Food Pantry, Trap - Neuter - Return, and humane education for people of all ages.

Through our outreach, advocacy, and services, we strive to ensure that animal protection and companionship is accessible to all. The APS-FH is a private 501(c)3 and receives no local, state or federal support with the exception of a small portion of county dog license fees. Building a community of compassion is our goal – through adoption of homeless pets, humane education, abuse investigation, and community outreach and leadership.

Make sure to visit Treasure Hounds, located at 365-C Spring Street, our home furnishings, home décor, and gift shop that benefits the APS-FH animal shelter.
