Come join us for a compelling lecture at the Lopez Library by visiting artists Jodi Sandford and Valter Gosti aka SANDFORD&GOSTI.
Sandford&Gosti will be building several participatory art installations while on Lopez, and this lecture will help orient folks to their work, their thinking and teaching methodology.
The lecture will have four parts which will cover:
• Color theory - relational activity on how one understands color terms, and basic contemporary
understanding of color semantics. .
• The sense of color - how many senses do we have? What do we mean by a sense of color? How do we recognize it?
• Our work theory - Contemporary art - how working with found objects we have heard, “everyone is good at that”. It brings forth the question: What is art? The paradigm of art, and intentionality? Can people work together? Is it still art?
• Concepts, sustainability and collecting. What is Creative Intelligence? Can Artificial Intelligence replace it and what may the impact on conceptual art be?
