Lopez Village, Lopez Island

Nestled beside Fisherman Bay, Lopez Village is the compact, commercial hub of the island, about 4 miles from the ferry landing, where you can easily stroll among a variety of shops and galleries, coffee shops, a bakery, and restaurants, as well as a fully-stocked grocery store, pharmacy, and organic grocery. Lopez Village Park has public restrooms, showers, and picnic tables where you can adjust to island time, relax, and enjoy a coffee and a world-famous cinnamon roll from Holly B’s Bakery.

On Saturdays visit the Farmers’ Market (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.), with its array of work by local artists and craftspeople along with straight-off-the-farm produce.

If you plan to visit Lopez during the island’s quiet season, consider scheduling your trip around the Winter Village Gathering, held the Friday after Thanksgiving. You’ll find the Village transformed into a wonderland of holiday lights and decorations when the recipient of the annual Grand Lopezian Award turns on the switch. Join locals to sing carols, sip hot chocolate, and nibble on cookies to welcome the spirit of the holiday season.
