The Whale Museum promotes stewardship of whales and the Salish Sea ecosystem through education and research. Visit us in our historic building in downtown Friday Harbor, only three blocks from the ferry landing. See our fun and educational exhibits about whales, watch free videos, and shop in our store, which features marine mammal art and gifts. Guided and unguided tours are available. Events: Marine Naturalist Training in March, Orca Fest in May, Pod Nods in July and August, Sailing on The Adventuress in late summer. Adopt your very own orca, and support marine mammal education and research! And visit our website to get your copy of the whale watching guidelines. Museum and store open daily in spring and summer; call for reduced hours in off-season. Join us for our Land-Based Wildlife Tours on Saturdays through out the summer (with the exception of August 16). The tours depart at 1:00 p.m. from The Whale Museum and are free. Reservations are required as space is limited to the 15-passenger van.

The Whale Museum’s biggest night of the year begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception in The Bluff Restaurant followed by dinner served in the San Juan Room. The evening will conclude with a Dessert Celebration in The Whale Museum’s Gallery.  As for attire, to celebrate the orcas, attendees are encouraged to wear black and/or white!  

Seating is limited. Reservations can be made in The Whale Museum’s store or by calling (360) 378-4710 ext. 30. This year-end celebration is a fundraiser for the Museum’s education and research programs.  [more...]
