Girl Meets Dirt

Girl Meets Dirt Archipelago Preserves specializes in single-varietal preserves made from local heritage orchard fruit.  Grown by small family farmers & homesteaders - many varietals come from trees that have been producing bounty for over 100 years, and some are exclusive to Orcas. Stop by their tasting room during normal business hours to say hello and to purchase preserves, or taste these treats at the San Juan and Orcas Island farmers’ markets.

The Orcas Project

The Orcas Project is a collaboration between acclaimed Winemakers and Vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, featuring labels illustrated by Orcas Island artist Carlin Hayworth.  These wines are limited in production and available at Doe Bay Wine Company in Eastsound and some island restaurants.  Pick up a bottle of red or white this holiday season, and give the gift of local wine.

Nest

Nest is a lovely floral and gift boutique located in the heart of Eastsound. Find unique treasures with a focus on Island and Washington State artists as well as fresh flowers. Take a moment to come in and smell the flowers while wandering through the shop.

Island Thyme

Since 1996, Island Thyme has been creating botanically-based skin and body care products in small batches from a farm and apothecary workshop on Orcas Island. In the Island Thyme studio, soaps, creams, balms and herbal oils incorporate island ingredients and bring a sense of calm and relaxation. It's the gift of self-love!

Orcas Island Artworks

A treasured Orcas Island destination, the Artworks offers one of the finest selections of local art and crafts in the San Juan Islands. The co-op represents forty-five Orcas Island artists and craftspeople, working in pottery, sculpture, jewelry, glass, wood, paintings, prints, wearable art, fiber and more. Established in 1981, the gallery is one of the oldest cooperatives in the country.

Harnessing the power of the sun and sea, San Juan Island Sea Salt is local through and through.  They harvest pure seawater and solar evaporate it right here in the islands. The sea salt is mineral rich and adds an island flare to any meal.  Find this local treasure in a variety of select local gourmet shops, plus the San Juan Island Farmers' Market and the San Juan Island Food Co-op.

San Juan Island Cheese

This charming shop and restaurant across the street from the San Juan Island Farmers' Market at Brickworks, showcase artisan cheeses, beers and wines from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Owners Richard and Sherry Daly offer unique specialty and local food items. Shop for a food gift basket, and enjoy a cheeseboard, sandwich, salad and glass of wine or beer in this cozy restaurant, or in the outdoor patio garden in summertime.

WaterWorks Gallery

WaterWorks Gallery features contemporary artwork of artists based in the San Juan Islands and the Pacific Northwest. The art reflects the unique Northwest experience and artists are stimulated by the changing times we live in. Art jewelry is a new addition to the gallery and continues to delight visitors and locals alike.

This Friday Harbor gallery features Arctic and Northwest Coast Native work. Offering a diverse collection of Northwest Coast Indian masks, wood carvings and prints, the gallery represents local peoples including the Coast Salish, Kwaguilth, and Makah nations as well as the more northern Haida, Tlingit and Tsimshian.

Island Studios Art Gallery

San Juan Island is full of talented artists in all genres, and Island Studios offers a selection of many of their works. This art co-op is packed with paintings, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry, metalwork, ceramics and more. The back garden is an oasis from bustling Friday Harbor, where you can sit and relax in the sun or watch the pond full of colorful koi swim about.

San Juan Island Brewing Co.

San Juan Island Brewing Co. is a local, independent craft brewery serving traditional Ales and Lagers inspired by the islands. Pick up a case of your favorite beer or some San Juan Island merchandise that will keep you dreaming about your next trip back.

Spread over 25 beautiful acres with lake and Olympic Mountain views, Pelindaba Lavender Farm has become one of the islands' most popular visitor destinations. More than 250 lavender-based, botanical, culinary, personal care, therapeutic, household and pet care products are handcrafted and sold on-site. Or shop and enjoy the aromas at their shops in Friday Harbor and Eastsound.

San Juan Island Distillery & Westcott Bay Cider

Hawk & Suzy Pingree harvest the many varieties of cider apples in co-owner Richard Anderson's small (acre and a half) orchard, press the apples into fresh juice, pitch a champagne yeast into the juice and slowly ferment it into prize-winning traditional English style hard ciders. They also produce award-winning Calvados, gins and vodkas using botanicals foraged and farmed on San Juan Island. Visit the tasting room on the weekends for an educational and delicious adventure.

At San Juan Vineyards' beautiful 30-acre vineyard, winery, and historic tasting room, you can sip from a line-up of award-winning wines including some locally grown favorites. Bring back a bottle for friends and family and share a splash of the islands!

Look for the Islands Made Seal

San Juan Islands Made is a certification given to any product that is produced by islanders, here in the San Juan Islands. The San Juan Islands Made brand was established to protect the integrity and value of the marketing allure for San Juan Islands Made manufactured, fished and timbered goods. There are some agricultural products with this certification that are not part of the Island Grown program.

You can also find agricultural products that bear the Island Grown in the San Juans certification.
