The Mullis Community Center was built in 2001. The facility has multiple meeting rooms, ample parking, a covered patio, and a large level yard, as well as a well-appointed commercial kitchen. The Center is perfect for retreats, meetings, workshops, weddings, family reunions, memorials, conferences, classes, lectures, and casual or formal gatherings and events of all types.
The Mullis Center is home to the island’s Senior Meal Program, Monthly Pancake Breakfast, Annual Artisan Craft Fair, Annual Parking Lot Sale, and boasts one of the largest event venues on the island. We proudly support sponsor and partner with many local organizations such as the Family Resource Center, Food Bank, Master Gardeners, Island Rec, Fish for Teeth, Bloodworks NW, and Senior Services of San Juan County.
Guests are welcome to join us M-W-F for a hot lunch prepared by Chef Hobbes Buchanan and Assistant Chef Eugene Cuomo. Our meals are delicious and nutritious and just happen to be the most reasonably priced home-style lunches on the island. Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. and Seniors 60 and older pay by donation ($5 suggested but nobody is turned away). Guests under 60 pay $7. Salad bar, beverages, and dessert are included with your meal at no additional cost.
We also co-host several drop-in exercise classes geared for seniors as well as weekly activities such as Mahjong, Knitting, Painting, Bingo, Quilting, off-island trips to Mount Vernon and Bellingham.
