One of the only free family art programs on Saturdays on San Juan Island. The instructor, Lana Hickman, creates fun and inspiring programs for families and children 12 and under. 

The topics range from flying machines inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci to exploring shapes and textures courtesy of John James Audubon or fossils discovered by Britain's Mary Anning.

January 12 - From Birds to Flying Machines in mixed media and origami. Inspiration: Leonardo Da Vinci designs

January 19 - Exploring Shapes, Textures, and Colors in Painting and Colors. Inspiration: John James Audubon depictions of birds

January 26 - Flora, Fauna, and Fungi: Drawing from Nature. Inspiration: Maria Sibylla Merian’s Work

February 2 - Creating Natural Images on Sunprint paper. Inspiration: Anna Atkins botanical cyanotypes

February 9 - Discover and make fossils. Inspiration: Mary Anning’s work

February 16 - From Beetles to Butterflies: Multimedia Exploration of Patterns. Inspiration: Illustrators of bugs

February 23 - Paleoart from Cave Paintings to Sticks and Stones. Inspiration: Andrew Goldsworthy’s works

March 2 - Making Your Own Camera Obscura in a box. Inspiration: Johannes Vermeer
