October Clay Club: Art You Can Use!
In October, we are exploring the exciting possibilities of functional art! We will create mugs, bowls, and plates that can actually be eaten off of and sipped from using the wheel, molds, slabs, and other fun techniques. Kids will be bringing home real dish-ware that can be used at home!
Clay Club is for kids in 1st-5th grade who want to explore fundamental ceramics skills and advance their existing knowledge. The program is ongoing and features different themes and goals each month. Maria Michaelson and Glenn Hendrick are the instructors for this course, and together they have over 10 years of teaching experience. They are so excited to offer this fun and creative learning experience to island kids!
Included in the price of Clay Club are up to two parent/child open studios per month, Saturdays from 1:00-4:00 p.m. plus all materials and firing.
Tuition assistance is available for this program. To apply for tuition assistance, please submit a completed application at least 2 weeks before the class start date.
Tuition Assistance for Clay Club is sponsored by The San Juan Island Community Foundation. We are so grateful for their support!
