Enjoy the annual Fireworks Show! Lopez Island has a special way of celebrating the Fourth of July. It has become one of Washington State's most treasured celebrations. Many come from all over the country to enjoy a "down home" themed parade and one of the most spectacular communities funded fireworks displays you can find anywhere. This year's theme is "Pride in our past, Faith in our future."

Starting with the Lion's Club Fun Run/Walk in the morning, the hometown parade, library used book sale from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Lopez Center for Community & Arts and the Red Bag Sale is back by popular demand.  Get a red "Friends of the Library" book bag for free and fill it with books for only $20!   Enjoy the spectacular evening fireworks and plan for a very full day! There is something for everyone to do and everyone can participate.

An electronically timed 10 K run, 5 K walk and run and a 1 Mile romp from 8:30 a.m. starting at Islanders Bank. Great t-shirts and prizes.!  Register at Lopez Village Market from 12:00-4:00 p.m. on July 2nd and 3rd. Morning of the race from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. at Islanders Bank. At 10:15 a.m. the awards will be presented at Islanders Bank finish area.  Early registration begins about mid-May. Registration forms are available at the Lopez Chamber of Commerce or online at www.lopezisland.com with a link to signmeup.com or by e-mail.  

The old-fashioned small town parade starts at 11:00 a.m. and is sponsored by the Lopez Lion's Club. Come join us either in the parade or to watch along Fisherman Bay Road starting between the Galley Restaurant and the Islander Resort, winding through the Village on Lopez Road ending at Week's Road and Fisherman Bay Road. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. between the Galley Restaurant and the Islander Resort on Fisherman Bay Road. Enjoy the sounds of the Brass Marching Band from 9am-12pm at Islander Lopez, and Music on The Lawn at noon at The Community Center.  Acoustic and DJ’d jams to enjoy.

Last, but not least, the all Volunteer Lopez Island Community Fireworks Committee puts on the biggest and best Pyrotechnics Show on the West Coast starting at 10:30 p.m at the Spit on Fisherman Bay.
