Cider Weekend on Orcas Island
Darville’s Book Store, The Barnacle, Doe Bay Wine Company, and Boathouse CiderWorks are excited to announce a weekend of Cider themed events this October in Eastsound. The events are in honor of Erin James who will be visiting the island to promote her new book.
Erin James is the author of Tasting Cider and the editor-in-chief of CIDERCRAFT and Sip Northwest magazines. A tenured food, beverage and travel writer, her work has appeared in a variety of publications, including Wino Magazine, Washington State Wine, Seattle Met Bride & Groom and Seattle Weekly. The festivities will kick off Friday, October 20th with a tasting of Finn River Cider with Krishna Kiger at Doe Bay Wine Company from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 21st Erin will be at Darville’s Book Store from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. where she will be signing her book and offering recommendations. At 7:00 p.m. The Barnacle will be hosting Erin for an evening of Cider themed cocktails based on recipes from the book and featuring the local Boathouse CiderWorks.
