Heritage Apple Day and Community Apple Press

Once known as the Fruit Basket of Washington, the San Juan Islands, and Lopez have a long history of cultivating orchard fruit.

On Saturday, October 12, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm at the Lopez Museum, in collaboration with Kwiaht and the LIFRC Gleaning Program, we will celebrate the diverse and rare array of heritage apple varieties that still thrive on Lopez today.

We will have grinders and presses available for community use, unique varietals to taste, and seasonal treats.

Bring a jug, a mug, and a tote of apples (if you’ve got one), and help us celebrate autumn and biodiversity on Lopez!

Starts: October 12, 2024

Time: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Admission: free and open to the public

Location: Lopez Island Historical Society & Museum
