"Food For Life" - Climate-Conscious Agriculture 2023 Farm Tours on Lopez Island

Henning Sehmsdorf and Elizabeth Simpson partnering with Transition Lopez Island will host a year-long series of farm tours at S & S Homestead to showcase a wide range of topics on sustainable agriculture. Scheduled on the second Saturday of each month through December, each tour will feature a presentation on a particular topic, tours of the farm, a delicious, nutritionally whole meal from homegrown food, a copy of the book Eating Locally & Seasonally, and transportation via electric vehicles to and from the farm as needed.

Food for Life

Farm tours are scheduled for the second Saturday of each month at S&S Homestead Farm, Lopez Island, Washington

Saturday, April 8 - 11:00am - 2:00pm

*Learn about the nutritional, health, economic, and ecological benefits of seasonal & local food grown on organic soils

*Enjoy delicious, nutritionally whole food grown on the farm

*Travel provided, as needed, to and from the farm, from the ferry terminal and/

or lodging, by non-polluting EV transportation

Cost: $100 - Includes tour, lunch, EV transportation (as needed), and the book “Eating Locally and Seasonally: A Community Food Book for Lopez Island”
