Frank Richardson Wildfowl Preserve

Frank Richardson was a professor of zoology who donated land to the Preservation Trust, which now comprises 13 acres near Deer Harbor. On this popular wetland, you can see many water birds, including Soras, Common Yellowthroats, Willow Flycatchers in the spring and summer, and Pied-billed Grebes, Virginia Rails, Marsh Wrens year-round. From the Orcas Ferry Landing, turn west onto Orcas Rd., drive 2.5 miles. Turn left onto Deer Harbor Rd. Drive 4.5 miles. Turn right onto Channel Rd. Drive 1.1 miles. Park in pullout on right.
