Orcas Island Whale & Wildlife Watching
When “Free Willy II” was filmed in the San Juan Islands, one of our local whale watch operators played the Coastal Marine Patrol and took the cast and crew out for a whale watch tour.
Whatever tour you choose, you’ll have the chance to see orcas, minke whales, harbor seals, Dall’s and harbor porpoise, bald eagles, ospreys, cormorants, great blue herons, and other seabirds; seasonally, look for Steller and California sea lions, gray whales, and elephant seals. Check with the tour company for reservations and to find out what marine life should be in the area during your Orcas Island vacation.
Enjoy an informative, narrated cruise through the San Juan Islands in search of orca whales and minke whales. The thrill of seeing one of these majestic creatures will be an unforgettable experience. Discover the other abundant marine life and wildlife that call these waters home. You'll pass by unspoiled, pristine islands and historic landmarks. Established in 1988. [more...]
