Pelindaba Lavender Farm, spread over 25 beautiful acres with lake and Olympic Mountain views, has become one of the San Juans' most popular visitor destinations. See the largest herd of alpacas in the San Juans on this 70-acre working farm. Alpacas grow one of the world's softest, most luxurious fibers, and are irresistibly cute. The whole family will enjoy a self-guided stroll around the beautiful grounds with cameras clicking at these photogenic animals. Guided educational tours may be scheduled by calling a week in advance. San Juan Island Distillery is a small artisan business on San Juan Island, and is one of the newest distilleries in Washington. We make award-winning ciders and spirits from local ingredients. We also own Westcott Bay Cider, an established and prize-winning cider works. We have a craft distillery license to make gins and apple brandy from our cider.
Our small island distillery started production at the end of January 2011. We are the 32nd craft distillery in the state of Washington. We distill cider in our beautiful Adrian copper still from Germany. [more...]
