The Whale Plane Package: See Wild Whales! Your tour starts from Lake Union in Seattle via seaplane and lands at the docks in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. You will then take a three-hour Whale Watch and Wildlife Tour by boat. After the tour you will fly back to Seattle in time for dinner.

Orcas Island's dog park is located adjacent to the Port of Orcas Day Park at the corner of Mt. Baker and North Beach Roads, just north of Eastsound. If you are driving, the entrance to the parking lot is on North Beach Road. It's about an acre in size with grassy and wood-chipped areas, dog water, Mutt Mitts, a dog "toy box" and picnic tables. A small section is fenced separately for small and/or older dogs that may not be comfortable with more energetic dogs. The first San Juan County Bank was originally across the street in 1893, but moved to this majestic building when it was constructed in 1907, boasting a "burglar-proof vault with a burglar-proof safe." The bank's first president was J.A. Gould of Seattle, whose son, Gene, was the bank's first cashier (and its youngest, at age 19). He was later known for being the youngest bank president in the United States (at age 29), and became the town's first mayor. The building still has much of its historic wood interior, where real estate agents at Coldwell Banker have had their fingers on the pulse of island real estate for over 50 years. [more...]
