Photography in the San Juan Islands
It’s not a surprise that the San Juans are home to a number of excellent professional photographers. Some are nature photographers whose prints and note cards are available in local shops; others specialize in weddings, family reunions and other arranged “memory making.” Every picture tells a story. I create art from life and nature with photography, and have been making images in the San Juan Islands for over 15 years. I am a full-service provider of studio and location photography for families, individuals, artists, businesses and publications. I primarily photograph people for portraits, including making family portraits with the beauty of the San Juans as the backdrop. Michaels's background in architecture and design has complemented his eye for the visual through photography. Using a digital camera, he "captures" his surroundings with an awareness of lighting, proportions and scale that brings common landscapes and scenes to life. He prides himself as a purest with his images by not altering and enhancing them, other than adjusting brightness and cropping.
