Roche Harbor Resort

Roche Harbor, once a company town for a large limeworks, is a quaint, seaside village with a marina nestled in a pretty harbor on the north end of San Juan Island. With the Hotel de Haro, built in 1886 as the centerpiece, history comes alive in several more historic buildings which were once homes and workplace of the lime workers of yesteryear. Accommodations include rooms and suites in the Hotel de Haro, Quarryman Hall and the McMillin Suites. Families enjoy the Craftsman vacation homes and townhouses on the hillside, historic cottages, and condominiums with up to three bedrooms.  Activities include whale watching, sea kayaking, hiking on trails to historical sites and time spent in a sculpture park, pool and tennis courts. There are three waterfront restaurants:  McMillin's Dining Room, Madrona Grill & Bar and Lime Kiln Café plus the seasonal Beech Tree Espresso Bar & Ice Cream Emporium.  Additional amenities are the Afterglow Spa, gift shops and a grocery store.  Annual Roche Harbor events include: February Salmon Classic Invitational Fishing Derby, April Easter Egg Coloring & Easter Egg Hunt, July 4 Old Fashioned Celebrations (games, entertainment, fireworks), July Wenatchee Youth Circus, September Labor Day Celebrations with Mike Murphy (comedian), and Einar Nielsen/Becky Barr Fishing Derby.
