Many shops in town have water bowls on their sidewalks, although they don't allow dogs inside. You can bring small dogs into the Whale Museum, and there is also a water bowl outside as well. You can bring dogs into Friday Harbor Pet Supplies, on leash.
Pelindaba Lavender makes special lavender dog biscuits available at their farm store or in town store. While they ask that pets remain outside our organically certified production fields, pets on leash are very welcome in the cutting field, demonstration garden and picnic grounds. There are many wonderful photo ops for taking pictures of the “entire” family and if your pet needs a drink, just ask as we have various water faucets around the property.
Key Bank and Islanders Bank have dog biscuits at their drive-up windows.
The Port of Friday Harbor has a dog water fountain built into their human water fountain. Press a button and a stainless steel bowl fills right at dog height.
Roche Harbor has deck dining that allows dogs at Lime Kiln Cafe. You can have your dog there with you at the table on the restaurant's lawn or pier. There are water bowls all around the resort.
Several hotels, inns and bed and breakfast inns have accommodations for your pet, including Island Inn at 123 West, with three Fido-friendly rooms—one "Sweet" and two penthouses. At the Harrison House, Tucker House and Sunshine Suites, furry quadrupeds get pampered with house-made dog biscuits and pupcakes. They also get hand painted doggie towels, bowls and a special card from their posthumous innkeeper Mollie who shares favorite hikes, island dos and dont's and emergency numbers. The Hideaway Guest Suite welcomes pets at no additional charge. At Earthbox Inn, there are pet rooms in almost every room style, with a $15 per night per pet in designated rooms. They do have pet blankets and food/water bowls in the rooms upon arrival, with a small pet area behind the property.
At Lakedale Resort, a pet-friendly package in one of their log cabins includes a large pillow bed, food and water dishes, doggie dry-off blanket and in house dog treats. Between September and May 1, dogs are allowed to run off leash on the property. On Orcas Island, Doe Bay Resort & Retreat has special pet-friendly cabins. On Lopez Island, The Lopez Islander, with two single queen rooms; Acanthus Suites has a pet-friendly unit, including a secure gate and yard.
