Since 2002, Abbey Road LIVE! has been rocking the music of the Beatles at theaters, clubs and festivals across the country. This will be their fifth time to the island since 2009, with each performance bringing in folks of all ages to share in the magic.

Initially a tribute to the monumental Abbey Road album, the band has expanded its repertoire to include more than 100 Beatles tunes, from all eras of the Fab Four's career.

Not your typical Beatle look-alike tribute act (don't expect mop-top wigs and fake British accents), these guys are all about the MUSIC of the Beatles. Combining attention to detail with a creative exuberance, Abbey Road LIVE! delights its audiences with its energetic take on Beatles classics.

Tickets available at www.sjctheatre.org or 360 378 3210.

Candace Gossen, PhD, is an environmental archaeologist, architect, plant medicine teacher and just a girl that likes to dig in the dirt and climb trees.

ProjectSAM is the Garbage Archaeology project completed by a group of nineteen students studying archaeology this past spring at the Skagit Valley College San Juan Center. The idea grew out of Dr. Gossen finding a frisbee golf disc which became part of the beach trash she continued to pick up every day for 5 months at Deadman’s Bay. In total, twelve cubic feet of “stuff” from the beach and thousands of pieces of trash were collected. The questions the students aimed to answer as part of ProjectSAM included: how the waste got there whether by air, water, or left behind by humans visiting the beach. The results will be shared during this presentation by Dr. Gossen and the students.
