Friday Harbor’s Haunted Past

What small town doesn’t have a good ghost story or two? Historic Friday Harbor certainly does.

As one of the few west coast seaports to have never lost its pioneer core to a fire, Friday Harbor is graced with many buildings dating back to the 1880s and 1890s that invite us to hear their stories...

The Bay View Inn, circa 1890, now houses Windermere Real Estate, Friday Harbor, San Juan Island

Dining in the Islands

Fine dining in the San Juan Islands means tasty food—often locally produced—served in a laid-back atmosphere (forget the jacket and tie). Many of the islands’ restaurants take advantage of the bounty from local growers. Consider adding a local wine, beer, cider or spirit to your meal in these establishments—labels from San Juan Vineyards, Orcas Island Winery and Lopez Island Vineyards & Winery are featured on many of their wine lists.
